Prevention Education
Knowledge is power, so we strive to educate the Wiregrass on topics ranging from "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing" for parents to help identify potential red flags for predators, to the "Impacts of Child Abuse" for professionals to help build empathy and a plan for working with child survivors of abuse.
We offer counseling for individuals, families, and groups. Call for an appointment. No referral necessary.
We provide support and prevention education to new parents through the Baby Whisper program.
Our Parent Aide Program provides support to families with children ages birth to 12 who may be at risk for abuse.
We offer classes to our clients as well as training opportunities for professionals.
Therapy
Therapy can help a person express and process difficult emotions associated with the abuse, develop self-compassion and self-care strategies for managing moments when he or she feels emotionally overwhelmed, and learn to trust again.
Many therapeutic approaches are suitable for treating a person who has experienced abuse, from narrative therapy to eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, therapy may employ mindfulness techniques, such as meditation, or experiential techniques that incorporate art or journaling.
